Today, smoking is one of the most "important" topics (or should be) of almost every Government. Allow smoking on public places or not? Etc.
How is medicine looking at that bad habit?!

Of course smoking is one of the most important topics nowadays. How could we ignore it? In Mexico (which is my country) everyday 165 persons die from tobacco-related diseases. In the past, tobacco smoking was not a “bad habit”. On the opposite, it was a “heroe activity”, an “adult matter”. That was so because of the tobacco companies advertisements. Afterwards, health scientists begun to have scientific evidence that smoking was so dangerous to health (did you know that nicotine is an insect poison?): it causes many types of cancer, low sexual capabilities, stroke and many diseases. It is important to beaware of this in order to reject the powerful tobacco companies goal: make all youth adict to tobacco. Greetings for everyone.
